The article ‘Internet Addiction; Too much time article’ discusses how kids lose track of time when using the internet. We personally believe that teenagers spend too much time online. We think social media should be limited to children so they can focus on other things like education and sports. These are much more important than being online. Another thing is games that take you away and you forget about time and reality (Ex. Minecraft, League of Legends, Bio Shock etc.) This could take you away from homework and family time. A lot of children don’t realize how something that takes up so much time could affect them. Lower grades, increased depression, lead to laziness, and lack of sleep. Most parents don’t realize how long their kids are online every day. It’s not monitored, or know what they’re doing on there. The change in kid’s attitude is also being seen (overly grumpy or easily irritated). I know that I am addicted to the internet because my attitude toward school work and people has changed. I would rather be playing minecraft than be interacting with people. I have lost a lot of sleep from being on the internet. I would much rather be spending my time on the internet than with my family. My brother spends 3-4 hours every day playing games when he should be doing his job o delivering papers. I want to check my hockey schedule for 2 minutes and he won’t let me on the computer at all or it takes him 1-2 hours to get off. In conclusion, kids spend too much time on the internet.
