The article ‘Internet Addiction: too much time online’ discusses how teens spend too much time on the computer to the point where they are addicted. I personally believe that teenagers spend too much time online. For me, I don’t ever really watch TV or use the computer. I just check Facebook, Twitter, my email, etc and after, I do my homework or do something else. The reason why I don’t go online as much is because I think it’s boring. It’s so much more fun to go outside or hang out with your friends and/or family! There are so many things to do other than be cooped up with your computer. I believe teens shouldn’t use the internet so much because as teenagers we need to be active, social and healthy.
I have a friend who is most definitely addicted. I feel like every time I talk to her, she is always on the computer. Ever since her addiction, her grades have been dropping, and she has now become a high school dropout. Though she is trying to rebuild her life, she I still as addicted as before, and if she doesn’t stop cutting down the time wasted on the computer, she will never be able to rebuild her grades or life because it will just be a cycle. All she does is go on the computer 24/7. She doesn’t pay attention to her health, her mom or me.
I don’t understand how people go on the computer for so long. I mean, after a quick check of social network sites, what else is there to do?
