Looking at Deep Thought Index# 30

In the article ‘Internet Addiction: Too Much Time Online’ discusses how teens are over uses the media and how it will affect their lives. I personally think that teens spend way too much time on the internet. In the article, it states that teens use over 16 hours of media each day. This means that most teens are not getting the sleep they need to concentrate in school. I have even seen teens not sleep at all so that they can play video games or watch videos. I personally believe that there should be ways to limit teens from using media after certain hours. There are already ways to do this but they are too easy to get around. The automatic shutdown timers on computers are very easy to change; so easy that they are practically useless. Use of the media is perfectly fine if used in the right amounts, and not used only for entertainment purposes. I feel that lots of teens don’t realise that the internet is not only for watching videos or playing games. There are many websites that can help you complete your work faster and more efficiently. In conclusion, teenagers have the most potential out of everyone in the world today; but the internet and over usage of the media are ruining this potential.
